Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioner McGrath, focusing on the Digital Fairness Act

What is the Dialogue about?

The Youth Policy Dialogue focuses on how the EU can ensure a fair, safe, and inclusive digital environment for young people.

Participants will explore topics such as:

  • Online safety and protection from harmful content
  • Digital platforms, algorithms, and fairness
  • Advertising, recommendation systems, and influence online
  • Age verification and protection of minors
  • The impact of digital environments on well-being and rights

📍 When & where: 28–29 May 2026, Rijeka, Croatia
👥 Participants: Around 30 young people from EU Member States and Western Balkan countries
🗣 Working language: English

Criteria for Selection

Participants should meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 16–17 years old
  • English language skills: Comfortable communicating in English
  • Motivation: Each child should submit a short statement explaining why they want to take part in the dialogue.
  • Availability:  Availability and willingness to travel to Rijeka, Croatia, between 27–29 May 2026
