A CHANGE IN EDUCATION – This activity aims to empower YW, providing them with the opportunity to develop knowledge and expertise in the youth sector, through the recognition and application of non-formal methods in young people’s educational processes.
The intention is to change education by transforming each educator. We will dive deep into human consciousness to discover who we are and what prevents us from learning. This individual transformation in each of us will change the way we “educate”.
Some themes that we’ll approach:
- The art of QUESTIONING
- Learning through OBSERVATION
- Rediscovering the meaning of RELATIONSHIPS
Trainer: Ana Gomes – From a small village near Mafra, Portugal, Ana travelled to England in 2012. The destination: Brockwood Park International School, founded by J. Krishnamurti. After graduating in Landscape Architecture and a period of volunteering outside Portugal, Ana discovered J. Krishnamurti’s work in an unexpected place. The phrase ‘You are the world’ was the seed that gave rise to a fundamental change.
Since arriving at Brockwood Park, Ana has lived and worked for three years at the main school and five years at The Krishnamurti Centre. Since 2020 Ana has shared her time between Portugal and Brockwood Park, continuing to support the study centre and schools in different activities. Her deep interest in the philosophy of J. Krishnamurti, as well as her passion for Bushcraft and woodcarving, are a fundamental part of her daily life.
